Insight Number 2

Save for a Rainy Day - There is a great line from a country western song, "Save your money pay with cash." Truer words were never sung. Of course Mother always said, "Save for a Rainy Day." In addition to saving for the future, your 401K and money in the bank, you need to have a little "mattress money." Whatever makes you feel comfortable and enough that if an emergency came up you could cover it. I've learned in my 50 years that money never matters until you don't have any. If you always keep a stash and only use it when a real emergency happens (no I am not talking about a new pair of shoes - that is not an emergency) like the car breaks down or someone gets sick, you won't have to worry. Trust me not worrying is a good thing.
