A Ten-Cow Life
Greetings:
There is a great story I was reminded of today when read an article written by Zig Ziglar. He was recounting the story of the "Ten-Cow Bride." The story goes that there was a village where it was customary for the perspective groom to give cows to the father of his bride. The village was surprised when a young suitor picked the homeliest girl and gave her father an unprecedented ten cows. No one had ever been given that many cows. When the bride and groom returned from their honeymoon no one could believe the change in the bride. She was now radiant, beautiful and confident.
The moral of the story is that when someone believes in us, we will believe in ourselves. Because the young groom thought his bride was worth ten cows, she believed it too. The same is true with our own lives. If we believe we are worth it and deserve it, we will live our lives accordingly. I have known people who have lived very poor lives. This has nothing to do with how much money they had, it had to do with their self-confidence and self esteem. They didn't believe that they were worth a ten-cow life, so they didn't have one. We have to believe in ourselves and believe we deserve a great life. By believing you deserve a ten-cow life, you will begin to live life in a richer and more abundant way.
I have always believed I have had a ten-cow life. Although I was raised in a modest income family, I never felt like I was poor. My sister has always been frugal and felt like she was poor. I once asked her about this and she said it was because of the way she was raised. But I remarked, "I was raised in the same family and I never felt that way."
She replied, "That was because you have always been rich." She is right. I have always felt blessed and that there was always enough and more to come. I felt I deserved a great life, and that is what I created.
It is all a matter of what you believe. It you believe you are deserving then you will be, and if you believe life is abundant and rich, then it will be. Zig Ziglar commented, "By acting as if you have a 10-cow life, it will give you beauty and blessings and great joy."
This week determine how you can live a ten-cow life every day. Once you have decided what a ten-cow life would be for you, begin living that life. Of course the first step is to know you are worth it and deserve it.

"You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being - not because anybody says so, not because you're successful, not because you make a lot of money - but because you decide to believe it and for no other reason." Wayne Dyer
