What in the world is Fat Tuesday?

Today we are celebrating Fat Tuesday. As a kid I really never knew why, although I was familiar with the term. The following day, Ash Wendesday I was more familiar with. Fat Tuesday however is a big holiday for some! To find out more about Fat Tuesday and exactly why it is celebrated click here.

Although Fat Tuesday is a holiday with religious roots you don't have to be religious to create your own traditions. Mardi Gras is actually based on Fat Tuesday and that is anything but religious. My husband and I are planning to attend a Fat Tuesday celebration that is about celebrating life and all the wonderful things it has to offer. You might think about spending time with friends, preparing a special meal or just taking time to write down everything you are grateful for.
