Who Is Your Mrs. Grezzel?
Who Is Your Mrs. Grezzel?
There is a great ad in magazines that highlights a star and a teacher that they had in school that made a difference in their life. That was, for me, my fourth grade teacher Mrs. Grezzel. Mrs. Grezzel wore bright colored dresses and lots of makeup. She always wore her hair in a bun and had a warm smile for everyone. She always seemed to be in a good mood. Mrs. Grezzel would read to the class from one of her favorite books everyday. She read the whole series of "Little House on the Prairie" and the book "The Little Prince." Mrs. Grezzel encouraged us to check out books from the library and gave us time to read silently in class. Mrs. Grezzel taught me the joy of reading and that books can be entertaining as well as educational. Through her love of reading she inspired me to be a lifelong reader.
I have had many teachers that have made a difference in my life. Some have been in the classroom, some have been my supervisor, parent, friend, and sometimes even a stranger has been a teacher. We all have the opportunity in life to be students. If we are open to learning, everyone we meet will have something to teach us.
Coaching
Become a lifelong student of life. If we arrive open to new experiences, ideas, and lessons, we will constantly be a student in the classroom of life and everyone can become our teacher.
Don't overlook the teacher who will teach you how not to do something.
