No Complaints Whatsoever

Greetings:

The teleseminar with Rev. Will Bowen, author of A Complaint Free World, was amazing. Rev. Bowen makes a powerful case for not complaining. Rev. Bowen advises that you can be healthier, happier and richer if you would just stop complaining. If you would like to take Rev. Bowen's 21 Day Challenge visit www.acomplaintfreeworld.org and get one of the Complaint Free bracelets.

If you are a member of 365 Days of Coaching you could win one of the beautiful purple Complaint Free bracelets. I am currently having a contest and the first four people who email me the correct answers to the three questions which I published in the Day will receive a bracelet. What, not a member! Join today.

In honor of Rev. Will's teleseminar today I thought I would run a Day I wrote last year about No Complaining. This was before I even heard of Rev. Will and his book.

I Have No Complaints Whatsoever

If you look around and see what is happening in the world, you can see that your life (no matter what your problems, concerns or troubles) is not all that bad. Yes, if you wanted to complain you could, but it won't change anything. Complaining doesn't create change and it doesn't help make anything different. About the only thing that complaining does is annoy people around you.

My rule is that, if I am not going to do anything about changing the situation, I choose not to complain about it. Complaining is detrimental. It can spread negative energy and cause you to be resigned to the way things are. Complaining puts a person in victim mode and creates a feeling of helplessness. Complaining with purpose is one thing (if you are going to actually do something in regard to what you are complaining about), but complaining with no intention of changing anything is a waste of time and energy.

A past co-workers would answer the question "How are you?" with, "I have no complaints whatsoever." Whenever I heard him say that, I would smile and think to myself, Me neither. I actually heard people challenge him, not believing that he had no complaints. Over time I noticed that my co-worker with no complaints seemed happier, healthier and less stressed than my co-workers who did complain.

Coaching

Create a complaint-free zone around yourself. Refuse to complain about anything and don't allow others to complain around you. Complaining doesn't help solve problems; it only makes them worse. Don't waste your energy complaining. Instead, use your energy to change what you are not happy with so that you can live with no complaints whatsoever.

Coaching Question

What are you complaining about?

Live the Day

Today, create a complaint-free zone around yourself. Don't allow yourself or anyone around you to complain. Make it a policy that, unless you are going to do something to change the situation, you won't complain about it.

Quotes

"We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the same." Carlos Castaneda

"All happy people are grateful. Ungrateful people cannot be happy. We tend to think that being unhappy leads people to complain, but it is truer to say that complaining leads to people becoming unhappy." Dennis Prager

Make it a Complaint free Day, or maybe even week, month, year!

Here's to taking action
