Leap to your success

Greetings:

Today is the extra day that we get because of Leap Year! Yea. But will an extra day really make a difference? No of course not, unless you want it to. Instead of looking at Leap Year as just one day, I like to think of Leap Year as an opportunity throughout the year to Leap toward my goals!

Here is an article I wrote about the importance of Leaping!

I know that many people advise looking before you leap. That is good advice, but it isn't always practical. Taking risks sometimes requires that you leap before you look. There are times when there just isn't enough time to look, investigate, or obtain all the facts. The only way we will know what all is involved is by jumping in and finding out.

Leaving my corporate job was truly a leap without looking. I had worked for the company for years so I had no idea what other opportunities were available, or how I would even go about finding them. I just had to leap and figure it out later. Leaping does require a certain amount of faith. You have to believe that there is something out there that will catch you.

It is smart to figure out as much as you can, but there is so much that you can't know. There are times when you simply have to leap into the unknown. That requires that you trust that there is something out there, and that you will be provided with the information and support you need. I have found that, when I am willing to leap, I have been provided with what I needed at the right time.

Leaping actually doesn't take as much bravery as one might guess. Often the leaps that we are required to take come out of necessity. When I left my corporate job, I didn't know what I was going to do, I just knew I couldn't stay. So leaping was the only answer. There often comes a time when leaping is the only way to move forward. More than bravery, leaping requires trust and the willingness to risk not staying safe.

So don't just think of Leap Year as one day, think of it as an entire year to have the opportuntiy to make the Leap to what you want.

If you have made a Leap please share what it took and the lessons you learned from Leaping to what you wanted.

Here's to taking Action

Rachelle
