Drink White Tea

Greetings:
In a Day I recently wrote, "Your Health is Priority Number One" I mentioned I had pneumonia in the month of February. Pneumonia is nasty stuff, and if you have never had it, I hope you never do. I have never been so sick. After my bout with pneumonia I recommitted to my health and have made it priority number one. One of the things I am doing is drinking - tea that is. I discovered something that will help you stay healthy, and perhaps keep pneumonia away.
I was reading an article in the February 2007 issue of Fitness Magazine about tea. The name of the article "The Ultimate Health Drink" by Lauren Russell. According to the article "Tea contains powerful antioxidants called flavonoids that might make a huge difference in your health." White tea in particular "kills bacteria, including strep and pneumonia, and destroy 80 percent of bacterial viruses in 10 minutes, according to research at Pace University in New York City." Wow, now that is impressive and reason enough for me to guzzle the stuff.
On my quest for White Tea I have had somewhat of a challenge. White tea is not as popular as Black or Green tea, but it is out there. Celestial Seasoning has several white teas. So far all I have tried is the Perfectly Pear White Tea. It is light and refreshing, has a little bit of a sweet taste and doesn't have any bitter aftertaste. According to the inside of the box, "In the mountains of China, white tea is harvested only from springtime's first tender buds and top leaves that are covered with soft, silvery-white needles. Very simply and naturally dried, white tea retains the unique flavor of a freshly picked tea leaf, mellow, delicate and slightly sweet. This also preserves an even higher level of healthful antioxidants than in green tea."
Not quite as easy to find is Celestial Seasonings Antioxidant Plum White Tea. I haven't tried it yet but sounds yummy. For more info on Celestial Seasonings White Tea and other great products check out the website at http://www.celestialseasonings.com/index.html. Even if you are not interested in White Tea check out the website, it is cool.
I also found a Celestial Seasonings Organic Tea, much more difficult to find, Vanilla Apple White. In addition I found a White Tea by Triple Leaf Tea, White Tea Peony. Haven't tried either of these teas but really looking forward to it. I think I might have to have a White Tea tasting party.
Live the Day,
Rachelle
