Farewell to the Purple Lady

Greetings:

The Purple Lady as I affectionately refer to her is retiring. As I wrote in last weeks e-zine:

"In 2001, when 365 Days of Coaching was receiving its first facelift, I worked with a graphic designer to have a cover designed for the newsletter. The "Purple Lady," as I refer to her, was born after several iterations. Although I am still fond of her, I have received many comments that she simply doesn't fit anymore. Since 365 Days of Coaching is going through another makeover it seemed like the perfect time to let the Purple Lady go. If we were a big corporation we would say she was moving on to seek other opportunities. But, since we aren't, I will just tell the truth and say we are getting rid of her. I personally want to thank her for all her years of service and dedication to 365 Days of Coaching and I want to say it wasn't her fault she was purple. It just happened to be my favorite color at the time.

Just so you know, the purple lady isn't a real person; she is simply a graphic that was selected at the time. I have been asked if the picture was of me, and no it was not. The expression on her face was one of excitement in receiving the day and not one of pain and agony as has been suggested. Changing the purple lady is simply a sign of our commitment to continue to grow, change and improve. Although a replacement for the purple lady has not been selected, I am open to suggestions and ideas. Let me know what you think should replace the purple lady if anything."

As with anything change is good, and I know this is a change for the good. I however will miss her and also know that this is a sign that we are moving ahead and continuing to grow and develop. So here is to change.

Live the Day

Rachelle
