On my recent trip to Alaska, my family went on a whale-watching excursion. As we cruised along in the boat waiting to see whales, the guide said that the excursion should be called whale waiting since most of what we would be doing is waiting to see a whale. He was right. Most of the trip was spent waiting, not watching. However, our patience paid off and we spent about thirty minutes out of the two-hour excursion following whales and enjoying watching them do whale things. My Whale Waiting adventure is a great example of how success is created. You have to show up, take action and, most importantly, you have to be patient. Success doesn·t just happen. Success takes time. Although you are doing all the right things to achieve your success, it might take a lot longer than you expect. When you start to get discouraged and think that maybe you are not on the right path, don·t despair. Patience and persistence will pay off. I have to say that parts of the excursion were not all that exciting, but getting the chance to see whales in the wild was worth the wait. I believe success is much like that as well. The journey to success isn·t always that exciting. Parts of it will be boring, challenging and downright difficult. Hang in there. Don·t give up. Success is a process. Stay focused on the goal, be persistent and patient, and your efforts will be rewarded. Rachelle
