It Could Happen
You never know what is possible until
you try

Many
people like to use the phrase, "That could never happen."
I, however, don't like to limit others or myself by thinking in
such limited ways. Life is mysterious and many things can happen,
even the most impossible. Instead of thinking in terms of never,
it seems more logical to think in terms of "It could happen."
When
I made my list of "100 Things I Want to do Before I Die,"
I put two things on the list that seemed pretty farfetched. One
was to have my picture on a US postage stamp (without being dead)
and the other one was to meet the Queen. I had shared my list
with several people and most picked those two items out to tell
me they would never happen. Well, about a month ago my picture
did indeed appear on a real US postage stamp. True, I created
and paid for the stamps but, nonetheless, my picture now appears
on real stamps that I can use. This week I am off to California
to meet the Queen, the E-zine Queen as it were, but still a queen.
With this one I learned to be very specific since what I meant
when I wrote this on my list was I wanted to meet the Queen of
England. I have since updated my list.
The
moral of the story is that it could happen. Don't limit your dreams
and goals. You never know what is possible until you try. Also,
keep in mind that you don't have to know the "how it will
happen." Your job is to know the "What" and to
be very clear about it. When you are creating your dreams and
goals, be very specific, add as much detail as possible and then
get busy visualizing and realizing your dreams.
Get
in the practice of saying "It could happen" because
indeed it could. When others tell you that it could never happen
put your figures in your ears and chant "I can't hear you."
You could also sing La La La La for effect if you like, or you
could simply smile, say nothing and look forward to the day when
you can say, "I told you it could happen."
