The Seasons of Life

=============================================

Just as nature has seasons, so do humans. We follow a natural process that leads us through various stages of our lives. Sometimes we will be in the fall season where we go inward and seek solace. This is the time of rejuvenation and evaluation of our lives. It may seem like we are dormant or stuck, but actually we are doing powerful inner work. We then will have winter where we continue to hibernate and seek inner peace. We may see changes in our lives as we are in the winter stage, such as relationships ending or circumstances changing. However winter, like fall, is a powerful time because we are preparing for spring a time when we will move forward and take our new found energy and inner strength and begin anew. Then, as nature does, we will move into summer where we reap what we have sown and will begin the process again.

This natural process can takes months or years; it depends on what we are experiencing and learning. Sometimes we may feel like we want to rush through the more challenging times, such as fall and winter, when we are doing our personal growth work. But, there is no need to rush because, as nature demonstrates, all seasons end and a new season will begin with or without our cooperation.

This process reminds me that there is a flow to life. Life proceeds, as nature does, through a pattern. As in nature, we cannot skip over fall and winter to have spring and summer. All seasons have their reason for being and their time.

Coaching

When I look at my life, I can see how I have passed through the seasons many times. There have been times when I was seeking going inward to gain my strength and inner wisdom. There were times when my old life was dying away only to be greeted by new opportunities. And then there have been the summers where there was time to enjoy life and take time to relax. It isn't always comfortable, but each season serves a purpose.

Coaching question

Where are you in the seasons of life?

Daily Success Formula

Quotes

"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me." Carol Burnett

"I'm going to a special place when I die, but I want to make sure my life is special while I'm here." Payne Stewart

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin -- real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life." Fr. Alfred D'Souza
