=============================================

I love reading stories about famous people who were "discovered." It is exciting to hear how people launch their careers. The one thing I notice about "discovered" people is that they are not sitting at home in their living room. They are out in the world. What Woody Allen says is true; one of the biggest parts of being successful is simply showing up.

Success is a combination of lots of things, but most of all it is about showing up and putting ourselves out there. If you want to be "discovered," you need to be where others are so they can discover you. And being discovered happens in many ways, such as when you are looking for a job. The only way for the company to discover you are the best person for the job is for the hiring person to meet you. If you want to have a partner in life, you have to be out there meeting people so that the "right one" can discover you. Being discovered is about letting others know you are here and available.

Coaching

Being discovered is about being in the right place at the right time, which means you have to be there in order to be discovered. Luck is when opportunity meets the person who is willing to put herself out there. You can be the best at whatever you do or the greatest person alive, but if no one knows how to find you then who cares. Discovery comes when we are willing to let the world know that we are here and ready to take on the challenge. You cannot be discovered sitting in your living room. You have to be willing to get out and meet opportunity face to face.

What are you doing to be discovered?

Daily Success Formula

Being willing + Being out there + Being open to opportunity = Increased chance of being discovered

Quotes

"Ability is nothing without opportunity." Napoleon Bonaparte

"Four things come not back. The spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life, and the neglected opportunity." Saudi Arabian Proverb
