=============================================

Although it can be helpful to get the opinions of other people, the truth is no one can really tell you what is best for you. People can give you opinions and suggestions, but it is all based on their experiences and their lives. Their opinions are not based on who you are. If you want to know what is the best thing for you to do, the best place to look is inside. You have the answers if only you will take the time to listen to yourself. Often we do not trust ourselves and think others know more than we. Others might have wisdom that can be helpful, but in the end our vote is the only one that counts.

In the past, I have let other people sway me away from what I wanted to do. I trusted their opinions more than I trusted my own wisdom and intuition. Every time I let others talk me out of what I knew was best for me I have been sorry. Putting my dreams aside because of the fears of others has never served me. I have learned that, although it can be useful to get support from others, in the end only I can decide what is best for my life.

Coaching

When you are making a decision, it is best not to get the opinions of too many people. Each person is going to tell you what she or he thinks based on hers or his experiences, fears, and doubts. Although they mean to be helpful, others can actually hold us back and cause us not to take the action we most need to take.

I knew a women who, every time she needed to make a decision, would run around and get the opinions of as many people as she could. Then she would count the votes and, based on what others said, would make her decision. In the end, she ended up very unhappy until finally she decided to rely on her own wisdom and inner guidance.

We can also seek the opinions of others to validate what we are going to do. Again, it is nice to have people in agreement with us, but we do not need it to move forward. Trust yourself and learn to rely on your own wisdom. Have a few confidants that you can share your thoughts with, but will allow you to make your own decisions. That way you can always be assured you are really living your life and not the life that someone else is voting for.

Are you relying on your own inner wisdom?

Daily Success Formula

"All search is vain, until we begin to perceive that wisdom is within ourselves ... then we may know the sun is rising, that the morning is breaking for us." Vivekananda
