Not Everyone Wins an
Academy Award

=============================================
I was thinking about some of my favorite actors and realized
that most of the ones who I really enjoy have never won
an academy award. Since this is one of the top awards for
acting, it made me think how important it is that people
do what they love to do even if they never win an award.
There would be a lot of great actors who would never get
on the stage if winning the award were the only reason for
acting.
Not everyone is going to be awarded for what they do. Many
of us will never be recognized for the good work and efforts
we put forth. Even without the award, it is important that
we do our best and show up everyday. Everyone counts and
everyone makes a difference.
Winning awards is not a bad thing. It is always nice to
be recognized for what we do. If recognition is important
to you then find a way to get it, both from others and from
yourself. Yes, you need to recognize and reward yourself
for the great things that you do. And don't forget to let
others in on what you have achieved. It is OK to blow your
own horn. Remember it isn't bragging if it's true!
Coaching
Awards are great, but not everyone is going to receive
an outstanding achievement award. That doesn't mean that
what we do isn't outstanding or doesn't deserve recognition.
And it does not mean that we shouldn't do what we do best.
If only the people that won awards acted, we would miss
out on many great performances.
Are you doing your best and providing the recognition you
need for yourself?
