=============================================

Julia Child is one of my heroes not because she is a great cook, but because she has done so many great things. She introduced cooking to the masses, paved the way for many would-be chefs, including women, to enter the world of cooking and demonstrates how much fun life can be. Julia lives her life on her own terms. Quoting her from an interview she says, "I don't care, frankly, what people think. I do what I like." Now that is my type of women.

She also defies the "too old" philosophy that some people have. I have often had people tell me that they are too old to do something. Well, Julia didn't get her cooking career started until she was in her late forties. She is now turning 90 and is still doing guest appearances on cooking shows. I recently saw her on the cooking show Emeril Live promoting her latest cookbook. And she is currently writing a book about her life. I guess no one told Julia that age is a barrier to having a successful career and life.

Coaching

Julia Child is a woman who lives her passion. She loves what she does and it shows. Her life is lived on her own terms. For me, she is an example of what a person can do when they tap into their passion and live it.

Julia didn't grow up cooking; it was later in life that she discovered her passion for preparing food. But she didn't let her age stop her from doing what she loved and at a time when many people were looking at retirement Julia started her career. For me, she is an inspiration and a symbol that at any point in life a person can find their passion and live it.

When people tell me they are too old to get a degree, for instance, because it will take four years. I simply ask how old will they be in four years if they don't get the degree. Age is an excuse not a reason not to do what you want to do. If you are passionate about something and it is your dream then do it regardless of how old you are. With age comes wisdom, use it to create the life you really want and live without regrets.

Are you living your passion?

Daily Success Formula
