In this busy world, it can seem difficult to even get ten minutes to relax. It can be difficult to find time when there are so many things that beg for our attention. However, we owe it to ourselves to create at least ten minutes of paradise a day. Here are a couple suggestions for creating the peace and quiet we all need.

Create a free zone. Let the kids, spouse, partner, or anyone else that could disturb you, know that the first 10 minutes that you are home is a free zone. This means that you are left alone free to relax and recharge. During that 10 minutes don't answer the phone, turn on the TV or do anything. Just sit and relax perhaps taking time to write in a journal and reflect on the day or sip a cup of tea. Just taking those ten free minutes will rejuvenate, revitalize, and prepare you for the next half of your day.

Do not go straight home after work. Perhaps make it a ritual that before you go home you take a walk in a near by park or sip a coffee at the local café. Give yourself some space in-between working at your job and working at home.

Give yourself permission to take the time you need to relax and unwind from the day. We can get into such hectic lifestyles that we forget that it is okay to take care of ourselves and relax from time to time. Most of us treat our cars better than we treat ourselves. We would never try to run our car on empty, but we often do this to ourselves. Let go of the guilt that you should be doing something and simply relax.

Coaching

I have formed the habit of vegging. What that means is I simply sit still for a few minutes and think and do nothing. I will stare out the window or at the floor, it doesn't matter, I just veg. At the end of my vegging time I feel relaxed and I can think clearer. Just a few minutes of vegging time gives me the energy to carry on with what I need to do.

How often do you take during the day just to veg?

Daily Success Formula

Relaxing + Rejuvenating + Freedom from doing = You own piece of paradise
