=============================================
One of my favorite animated characters is Tigger in "Winnie
the Pooh." Tigger sings a little song that goes something
like, "Tiggers are bouncey and pouncey and the most
wonderful thing about tiggers is I'm the only one."
Well that song could be sung by any of us. We are all the
only one the only one of us. I know it is almost cliché
to say you are unique and different and there is no one
else like you and, however corny that sounds, it is true.
The problem is that different isn't always seen as better.
Most of us spend our lives trying to be different just like
everyone else. We want to stand out and at the same time
fit in. We want to be unique but not in a usual way. Get
over it. You are you and there is nothing you can do about
it and the more you resist it the more miserable you will
be. I tried for years to fit in and be like everyone else.
I never managed it and it felt horrible the entire time
I was trying to be someone I wasn't. Once I gave up trying
to be someone else, I found life became so much easier and
a ton more fun.
Coaching
Can you sing the Tigger song and mean it? Can you say with
your whole heart and soul that the most wonderful thing
about you is that you are the only one? Tigger has it down
to an art. He loves to be Tigger. Once we accept who we
are and being who we are, life gets so much easier.
The easiest job we have to do is just to be ourselves.
And the hardest thing we have to do is just to be ourselves.
It takes a lifetime to perfect it and some people never
get close. Don't let your life pass you by without being
the wonderful you that you came here to be.
What is the most wonderful thing about being you?
