Feedback - Not Failure

A great reframe for how we perceive failure is not to look at it like it was a mistake, but to look at it from the perspective of receiving powerful feedback. Failure can tell us so much about what works and what doesn't. It can point us in the right direction and give us information we did not have before. Failure can be the best feedback possible.

I have seen people stop in their tracks because something didn't work out the way they thought it should have. Failure has the power to stop us or it can propel us forward. It is all in how we perceive it. We can see failure as a mistake or as a message. The message in failure is powerful feedback that can give us insight and provide new information not available prior to the failure. The only time failure isn't a good thing is when we do not learn from it.

Whenever you have a perceived failure, ask yourself, "What did I learn from this?" By asking yourself this question, you will be using the failure as a way to obtain valuable feedback and will be able to move forward with this new information.

What feedback has failure provided you?

Daily Success Formula

Failure = Feedback

"A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else." John Burroughs

"Achievement is not always success, while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances." Orison Swett Marden
