You Won't Know if You Don't Ask

=============================================

Just about every time I have asked someone how he or she got to do something, or made something happen, or received a favor, the answer is the same. They tell me, "I asked." If you don't ask you won't know.

The reasons we don't ask are many. However, I think most people are afraid of rejection. The thing to remember is that if you are rejected for asking for information, you haven't lost anything. At least by asking, you increase your chances getting what you need.

People also assume others know what they want. Not true. Most people are not mind readers and are not going to guess what we want. By asking, you eliminate the element of guesswork and make it clear to the other person what you want.

I have learned that most people are willing to help, if we ask. The problem is we assume others don't want to help, or they won't do what we want, or we can't have what we are asking for. Don't make assumptions. Ask before you assume.

Coaching

If you ask, you may very well get what you want. If you don't ask, you gain nothing. You have nothing to lose by asking and everything to gain.

What do you want to ask today?

Daily Success Formula

Asking = Better chance of getting what you want

Quotes

"Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want." Joseph Wood Krutch
