How often do we receive acknowledgment and
appreciation for what we do? Often the only time we hear
about what we are doing is when we are doing it wrong. People
are not islands. They need and desire appreciation. It is
amazing how a person will blossom with even small doses
of appreciation.
People enjoy being appreciated. It is human
nature to want to have others acknowledge what we do. To
start the chain of appreciation, begin to catch others doing
something right.
Everyday, many people do things for us from
the morning bus driver to the person at the coffee shop.
Throughout our day people are providing services for us
and we have the opportunity to appreciate them.
Appreciation is a cheap gift. It doesn't
cost us anything to give. However, it is priceless to the
person who receives it. All it takes to appreciate someone
is to acknowledge what he or she has done for us with a
grateful, "Thank you!" We can take it further
by telling the person how much we appreciate what they do
or did and how it helps.
The wonderful thing about appreciation is
that it can cause a chain reaction. When we appreciate someone
for something they have done for us, it gives them a sense
of well being and inner happiness. They cannot help but
pass it along to others.
Coaching
The chain of appreciation starts with you.
Begin catching people doing things right. When you catch
them, acknowledge them. Let them know that you have noticed
what they are doing and you appreciate it and them.
You have the power to make someone's day
simply by appreciating him or her for what they are doing.
People thrive with positive support and compliments. Begin
the chain of positive reaction by committing random acts
of appreciation today.
Who can you appreciate today?
Daily Success Formula

is the craving to be appreciated." William James
"Always remember, everyone is hungry
for praise and starving for honest appreciation!" David
Brandt Berg
"Appreciation can make a day, even
change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is
all that is necessary." Margaret Cousins
"The applause of a single human being
is of great consequence." Samuel Johnson
"You have it easily in your power to increase
the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving
a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely
or discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind
words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over
a lifetime." Dale Carnegie |
