=============================================

Every year, I pick a theme that will guide and direct me through the year. Picking a theme is like setting my intention for what that year will be like. The theme for 2001 was, "The Year of Mastery." If I would have thought about that, I might not have selected it. To achieve Mastery, one must go through the process of learning. Learning can be pretty messy and create embarrassing and awkward situations. The Year of Mastery turned out to be the year that I stepped into my own power and realized no one was going to do it for me. I am the only one that can be the Master of my fate. It was a powerful, if not challenging, year.

This year I have decided to pick a theme that I trust will be more fun and that is "Getting out there." This year I want to be more visible, get my message out further, and become more active.

The great thing about setting a theme is, although we have an idea of what it will look like, we can never be sure. Creating a theme creates energy and movement. It is about setting our intention for what we want to create and then releasing that intention into the world. We never know what it will bring back.

Having a theme year is about setting a powerful intention to create what you want in your life. Your theme year can be just about you or it can be more global, whatever you want your year to be about. I have had theme years based on health, prosperity, career, and relationships. A famous friend of mine shared with me that her theme for 2001 was getting used to not being liked. She practiced all year not being liked by others and not taking personally what others did. It was a powerful year for her.
