=============================================
Get real is a cliché that I hear
a lot of people use today. I have to stop and wonder what
it would take to get real. Getting real is much more difficult
than it sounds. To get real means we would have to be our
authentic selves. We would have to risk being real, risk
being found out, risk being ourselves.
For many, the thought of getting real is
just too frightening. Often we hide behind the facade of
who we are. We wear a mask in public and only take it off
when we are in the safety of our own company.
Getting real means that we become who we
are. It means embracing all that we are. Getting real takes
time and courage. It is more than a cliché. Getting
real is about getting back to the real person we are inside.
It means finding ourselves and expressing who we really
are.
Coaching
Getting real is a process that takes a lifetime.
The steps to becoming real are unique to each person. However,
the first step to becoming real is almost always awareness.
The awareness that we are truly more than we have become.
That somewhere deep inside lies the real us. The second
step is to create the courage it takes to proceed on the
journey of self-discover. It isn't an easy journey, but
it is the most rewarding journey we can ever attempt.
