Bad Days Are Like Viruses

=============================================
Have you ever noticed how bad days can spread
like a virus? We get up feeling fine, but on the way to
work someone cuts us off in traffic. We get upset and when
we get to work take it out on the receptionist. She takes
offense and makes a snide remark to the first customer that
walks through the door and on and on. Bad moods can spread
like viruses because so many of us are on automatic pilot
and are not aware how the actions of others are controlling
us.
We can make a choice how others affect us.
We can choose to be proactive or reactive. If we choose
to be proactive, we will respond in a way that will allow
us to stay in control of our emotions or we might choose
not to respond at all. Not everything someone does requires
a response from us. We can choose to be neutral.
Actually there is no such thing as a good
or bad day. Days just are. What makes a good or bad day
is our perception of the events and interactions we have
had. We can choose to shift our perception from thinking
we are having a bad day into realizing that what occurs
is simply part of a day. By not seeing things as either/or,
we can choose to be in the flow of the day and not pass
on the day virus.
Coaching
We don't always have control over what happens.
What we have control over is our reaction to and our perception
of what happened. We can choose to respond in a way that
is positive and supportive. By choosing how to respond we
decide if something will make, break, or not affect our
day. It is up to us. We can choose to have whatever kind
of day we choose.
What kind of day will you have?
Daily Success Formula
Bad Day = Perception

by our tendency to label things as good or bad." Robert
