Everyone needs a place where they can go
and relax. It's OK if you can't have an entire room dedicated
for your own personal sanctuary. Even a small corner can
become a haven for escape from the hustle and bustle of
life.
Somewhere in your home, carve out a space
that is just for you. I have taken a corner of my bedroom.
In this corner is a love seat with the perfect light for
reading. I have pillows with fun saying on them and some
that are just lush and comfy. I have a bookshelf with pictures
and mementos of my life, a water fountain and a large wicker
chest that I use for a coffee table that holds candles and
smell pretties. This is the space where I go when I just
want to relax, read a book, meditate or take a nap. It is
my personal sanctuary that supports and comforts me.
In addition to having an entire space dedicated
to you, there are ways to add your special touch to every
room or place that you spend time. Having fresh flowers
around is a special way of creating a special feeling. Pictures
of family and bowls of favorite treats can add a special
feeling.
Your desk at work can be your own special
sanctuary. Flowers, pictures, and personal mementos can
create that special feeling. Also keep lotion, fresh fruit
and healthy treats and even something interesting to read.
When you need a break you can grab what you need and find
a quiet place, or simply stay at your desk and take a moment
to refresh yourself.
Coaching
Surrounding ourselves with the things we
love can create a feeling of a personal sanctuary. When
we surround ourselves with what we love we feel cared for
and special. Having a space or even just an object in a
space can help us reconnect with our inner harmony when
the outside world gets to hectic.
