Your Life?

=============================================
As busy as everyone is, it can be difficult,
at times, to fit the most important person into your life.
Who is that person? You!
We can get so caught up in everything that
is going on and everyone that needs us that we can forget
to fit ourselves into our schedules. It may sound odd, but
I actually schedule in time to take care of myself. That
may be a massage or a long walk, or it might be a nap or
time to read a book. Whatever I choose to do, I make sure
I have time in my schedule for me.
Taking care of ourselves is a wise and healthy
thing to do. By taking care of myself, I am better equipped
to help others. My experience tells me that if I don't take
care of myself I won't have the energy or willingness to
contribute to others.
Putting yourself first isn't about being
selfish; it is about being smart. People who take care of
themselves and make sure they reserve time for what they
need are better able to share themselves with others. A
stressed out person who is overloaded doesn't have much
left for others.
Coaching
When planning your week, or even your day,
it is important to include yourself in your schedule. I
give myself time every morning to exercise, read, or just
enjoy the new day. I plan small breaks throughout the day
and make sure that I do at least one fun thing a day. Putting
myself first contributes to my sense of well-being. When
I feel cared for, I am more able and willing to support
others.
Are you in your schedule?
