Rise And Shine

Sleep is essential to a healthy vibrant life. If you don't feel like you rise and shine each day, it may be due to where you are sleeping as much as how you are sleeping. Creating a peaceful restful sanctuary is an important element in your ability to rise and shine.

To create a peaceful sleeping haven, remove anything from your bedroom that doesn't support you in getting rest. A television is nice, but doesn't support the sleep process. Instead of waking up to a blaring alarm, awaken to peaceful music or the sounds of nature. Put a bird feeder near your bedroom window and wake to the joyful sounds of singing birds.

Your bed should be a comfortable supportive place to rest your body. Have a mattress that has a comfortable firmness and a pillow that is fluffy as well as supportive. According to Dr. Mass author of Power Sleep, "an unsupportive pillow can put your spine out of line and cause neck and cervical pain. Sleeping on a dead pillow can disrupt you so much you can sleep all night and still feel terrible come morning." If you have a dead pillow, invest in a good nights sleep and get a new one. Make sure your sheets are crisp and clean. I even spray my sheets with a fragrant spray between washes to give them a fresh delightful scent.

The whole idea is to create a place that is restful and peaceful so you wake refreshed each morning.

Coaching

Where we sleep can determine our quality of sleep. Even if we are getting enough sleep, we may not be getting the proper rest if we are not surrounding ourselves in the proper sleep environment. We owe it to ourselves to create a haven where we can be rested and rejuvenated.

Is your bedroom a restful place to be?

Daily Success Formula

Restful environment = Peaceful sleep

"A light supper, a good night's sleep, and a fine morning have sometimes made a hero of the same man who, by an indigestion, a restless night, and a rainy morning would have proved a coward." Stanhope Philip Dormer

"I hate when my foot falls asleep during the day because I know it will be up all night." Steven Wright
